**Note: General Family names will not be placed on the wall: see wall format details in the box below for more information.
* A couple (ex: JOHN & MARY SMITH) is also an option
† : a small cross will be painted in front of names of deceased
• The solemnity of the installation will be enhanced by the absence of sentiments, quotation marks, and honorific titles (exception is clergy/religious)
**Wall Name Format
From the start it was decided, in an effort to make the wall more personal, that only actual names of individuals and couples would be placed on the wall- not the more general “Smith Family” or “The Family of John Smith.” And “The Family of….” is a bit long and takes away from the flow of names.
Any deceased individual will have a small cross in front of their names so it will be quite clear if a deceased person or couple is on the wall, it is their family or friends who honored them by putting them up there. When you stand before the wall it really does feel more personal/poignant to see the names of those who have supported and who are supporting St. Brendan and their loved ones.
For those who would like to write something on behalf of their Family, there is the equally distinguished option of an engraved brass plate that would go under your choice of two windows: one dedicated to Fr. Lane and the other to Hannah Logue -Spirit of St. Brendan. This engraved plate lets you write “Family” or include multiple names or sentiments. 4 lines, 30 characters per line. This is an alternative option for our Bronze level and higher community partners.
